It is also known as the \u201cbarrio de los artesanos\u201d (artisans\u2019 quarter).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cusco is the heart and soul of Peru\u2019s textile industry.\u00a0\u00a0There isn\u2019t anything else that simply screams \u201cPeruvian Andes\u201d like the colourful goods made of the prize Alpaca wool.\u00a0Many Cusque\u00f1o artisans still employ ancient weaving techniques, and they produce some of the finest textiles in South America. Cusco overflows with tiny shops stuffed with colorful wares and large markets crammed with dozens of stalls.
