The cool dark shadows provide contrast to the golden pallet. With added explosions of nature\u2019s green this place is truly a painter\u2019s delight!<\/p>\n<p>Early history of this mountain top includes occupation by the Roman Empire. This village has a rich history from the Middle Ages and Renaissance.<\/p>\n<p>There was considerable destruction to many homes during World War II. After a period of reconstruction the village started to attract many well known artists like Mark Chagall for example. Today this is a vibrant artists\u2019 community. While aimlessly wandering the narrow winding streets and discovering small art galleries, quaint restaurants, an explorer will very likely come across some equally lost tourists taking a peak through an archway or around a tight corner.
